I’m late. Just a tad bit late to watch Episode 5 by one day. That is enough for me to find out that most people hated the episode. Even the previous one too.
Personally, I feel OK. In fact, I loved those episodes. In a twisted world of Game of Thrones, one might expect this outcome. Specifically, the outcome where YOU never get what you want the characters to be. Yes, you.
Why I didn’t write any review for Episode 4? Because I feel, a good amount of people died in that episode, is sufficient enough for an act of revenge. THE revenge. So, we needed to relax — until last Monday!
I admit this season’s episodes was kind of rush. I was actually expecting each of the battles is worth to be two episodes each. I also understand but can’t imagine the hard work they’ve all been thru to make even 1 episode. In one of the making videos, someone said: “I have given everything I have, but I won’t do this again”. That meant something. I heard HBO gave them extra money just to extend the season but the showrunners refused. I get it. Money isn’t everything. Good for them. What I don’t get is the fans hating this season. Look. This is their show. They can do whatever they want and obviously, they can’t please each and every one.
About Daenerys spontaneous decision. If I had a dragon and you killed my best friend, I would do that too. Isn’t all good action movies are like that? Taken. John Wick. Bourne. Avengers. They will kill whoever is on their way just to get revenge. Just to get that one person who’s responsible. So what’s wrong with that? Does that make her a bad person? Well, maybe but it’s a feeling. A human instinct.
Nope, you won’t die gloriously instead…
Cersei’s death — it was kind of lame but in a way, it was a good choice. Hear me out. She has been the most hated queen, so that was one way to spit on her corpse and say “Nope, you won’t die gloriously instead, here — you will just get a lame death” and for once, she kinda gets what she deserves. It must have been a tough decision but you get a slow clap from me. As for Jamie, well, he asked for it.
Clegane story is a good one, as for the rest of deaths obviously we have seen it miles away and prepared for.
Finally, before the final episode next week — enjoy these videos while it lasts.
