The first of The Last of Us

The Last of Us, the highly-anticipated HBO series based on the popular video game of the same name, has finally premiered and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed… and also thoroughly scared out of my mind!

The Last Of Us opening credits

The first episode sets the stage for the series, introducing us to the main characters and their world. The show takes place in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by a deadly fungus that turns people into zombies, known as “the infected.” We are immediately thrown into the action as we follow Joel, a grizzled survivor, on a mission to smuggle a young girl named Ellie out of a quarantine zone. And let me tell you, this girl has some serious sass and attitude!

The acting in the series is top-notch, with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey delivering powerful performances as Joel and Ellie, respectively. The chemistry between the two actors is undeniable, and their relationship is one of the highlights of the episode. It’s like watching a buddy-cop movie, but with more zombies and less doughnuts.

The visual effects and production design are also impressive, creating a believable and immersive post-apocalyptic world. The infected are particularly terrifying, but at the same time, they are also pretty darn hilarious with their twisted, fungus-covered bodies and wild, animalistic behavior. It’s like watching a zombie version of “Dancing with the Stars”.

The episode also does a great job of capturing the tension and danger that comes with surviving in such a harsh world. The show doesn’t shy away from depicting the violence and brutality that comes with trying to survive in a world overrun by zombies. It’s like “The Walking Dead” but with more fungus.

Overall, the first episode of The Last of Us is an excellent start to the series. It sets the stage for an exciting and emotional journey, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store. Fans of the game will not be disappointed, and even those who have not played the game will be able to enjoy the story. Highly recommended! And keep your eyes open for the next episode, it’s going to be a fun ride.
